About

Hey, I’m Naief! (نايف)

— Means "exceeding, surpassing" in Arabic, from the root ناف (nafa) meaning "to exceed, to surpass, to go over".

If you’ve made it to this page, I’ll assume that either something on the homepage has piqued your interest, you’re an old friend or you’re a potential recruiter. You’ve likely navigated to the About tab to find out who I am, what I’m working on, and what I’m looking to do next. No matter the reason for your visit, I’d like to welcome you to my About section. Feel free to make yourself at home, have some tea or coffee while I tell you a little bit about my world!

I am currently a graduate student in the Information Systems program at Northeastern University. Since beginning grad school, I have spent most of my time working on individual projects that challenge my ability to design and develop unique solutions for targeted populations. My introduction to the world of design began from my passion for Apple products and how much I enjoyed using them. This opened my eyes to the intersection of the creative process, technology, and innovation. During engineering school, sleepless nights of code were met with days spent learning the art of photography and video storytelling. Inevitably, my love for all things creative and tech became a passion for user experience design.

I approach UX projects from the mindset that users deserve designs that are not only accessible and intuitive but speak to their perspective at all stages of the process. Living in India, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and America and traveling to countries around the world has made me a collector of stories, sights, and aesthetics. I try to capture the richness of life and humanity in everything I create.
